Set the Category
The positioning of Posts is driven by categories so the first thing we need to do is
to create some categories. Note that categories can be created during the Post
creation process but it’s good practice to do it in advance. We do this by
selecting Categories from the Posts menu. The screen below pops up. On the
left are fields to complete and these are the Name of the Category, the Slug, the
Parent category, and a description of the Category. Computer, Photography and
Uncategorised were already there.
I have added two as seen below and I have called them Garden and Walking. The
Slug will add automatically once we save the category information. To add our
Categories we click on the blue Add New Category button at the bottom of the
form.

Add a New Post
Once the categories have been defined then, still in the Posts menu on the
Dashboard, you select Add New. Reminder that you can add a Post from Site
View if you prefer.
I am going to add a Post to the Art History group about a recent visit to the
Oriental Museum in Durham.
