There wasn’t anything new there apart from setting a category, was there?
Creating a Post is very much like creating a page. The clever part now is putting
it on the page where you want it to appear.
This Post was created for the Computer group page so now let’s navigate to that
page as if we were going to edit it. I’ve had to drastically reduce the Zoom ratio
to show this entire page so you really need to be using Local and the demo site
to be able to see this properly. Can you see the Internet and Email Safety Post
down at the bottom of the page? Directly above it is another Post called
Introduction to Spreadsheets and above that is a Heading block for the
Computer Group News title. Over on the right is the familiar editing panel for a
group and this changes according to which block is being edited at any one time.
Again, this is familiar territory.
If you look at the page hierarchy on the left you will
see something you haven’t seen before and this is a
Query Loop block. Within this is a Post Template that
is going to define the layout of Posts on this page.
Within the template is a Post Title block and a Post
Content block.
Look again at the two posts on this page. They both
have titles with the content spanning the page below.
They follow a layout pattern as defined in this
template.
Do you remember that the category for each of these
was computer? ‘computer’ is what the Query Loop
will look for to place Posts on this page. Still within the
Query Loop you can see another block with a similar
