      Report on

      Lo Manthang

        Introduction
In Grade 5, we learned about Nepal and its various aspects . As per this topic, we went on a virtual
trip to Lo Manthang. We did this research as our Term 1 assignment . We took notes and then compiled
them. So to know more about what I learnt from this research go through this .

        My findings
In this virtual trip, I found out that people in Lo Manthang eat goat meat and milk them instead of
milking cows. For dinner, they have chicken stew. I found out that goats don't have access to green grasses
so they eat blue bushes that are on hills. Then for breakfast they have roti also known as flat bread, they
have this with milk tea. Kagbeni has coffee that is brought from far away cities. They also have access to
        restaurants.
I even found out that in Lo Manthang most of the people are Buddhist . It lies in the foothills of
the Himalayan peak at 15, 000 feet . They follow Tibetan culture. But they have moved to wearing modern
clothes. They still use the ancient doko to carry heavy items. They use trucks to transport building poles.
They wear colourful clothes. Solar power is used to heat the water. They use traditional tools called sickles
to cut grass. The dzo gives the power to plow. The dzo is a hybrid of yaks .

Lo Manthang is surrounded by terraced fields. There are deep canyons. Lo Manthang looks like a
dessert. They use aqueducts to water their feilds. To make clothes they use goat wool into yarn with a hand
spindle. They use motorbikes and horses for transportation.

        How life is different?
Life is very different in Lo Manthang because they don't really have access to all the things we have
access to like good education, good food, etc. It's very cold there and here we have a perfect weather. There
in Lo Manthang there is no technology and other electronic devices while we have all the technologies that
we can think of. They use wood for fire and warmth while we use heaters. We can water our plants with a
watering can and they use an aqueduct.

        My Experience

This virtual trip was really fun and interesting to know what people in Lo Manthang were like and
to see their lifestyle. My favorite part of the virtual trip was when we took notes and looked at all the pic-
tures and the mountains. I have to say the trip wasn't really fun because it wasn't an actual trip but even
though it wasn't an actual trip I tried to imagine it was.
