CALLAWAY GARDENS—Each year, the Above (l-r): Mike Mitchell, Tommy Grant, Kecia Bivins, Juenesse
Prevention Research Institute (PRI) Holman, Ricky Rick, and Tunnizia Weston
hosts a summer and fall conference in
Georgia as a means for DUI Risk
Reduction Program Owners, Directors,
and Instructors to obtain continuing
education credit hours they need to
maintain their certification through
DDS. The conferences feature a
number of breakout sessions pertinent
to risk reduction and substance abuse
treatment, including sessions specific
to DDS Annual Updates and strategies
for maintaining program compliance.
This year’s Fall Conference was held
September 20th and 21st at Callaway
Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia.
DDS was well represented by
members of TEAM Reg, including Kecia
Bivins (Division Director), Tommy
Grant (Deputy Division Director),
Juenesse Holman (Program
Administration Manager), and
Tunnizia Weston (Field Operations

PRI is responsible for developing the
20-hour risk reduction curriculum in
Georgia, publishing the program
workbooks, and training new
instructors. Georgia drivers convicted
of driving under the influence must
successfully complete a DDS certified
20-hour DUI Risk Reduction course as
one of the conditions of getting their
Georgia driver’s license or Georgia
driving privileges reinstated.
