Dawn Scott

Dawn joined DDS as a Driver Examiner I in 2005 and was promoted to Driver
Examiner 2 and now serves as a CSC Assistant Manager in Albany. She loves Harry
Potter and would love to go to Universal Orlando and experience the Wizarding
World of Harry Potter. Dawn loves photography, collecting seashells, hunting and
fishing. Her grandmother always told her: “Don’t stress over what you can’t control.”

Joey Scott

Joey began his State Career in 1999 as a “travel team” Driver Examiner, was
promoted to a CDL Driver Examiner, an Assistant CSC Manager in Evans, and
now is the CSC Manager in Thomson. He is a runner and has participated in
about 30 races and logged approximately 7000 miles running. His family has a
beef cattle farm with 50 head of cattle that doubles to around 100 during
calving time. He once caught a customer cheating on the CDL knowledge
test—the customer had taken his shoe and sock off to flip through the pages
of a study guide with his toes.

                      Jeff Smith

Jeff transferred to DDS in 2011 as the Information Security Officer and then
was promoted to Chief Information Officer. He loves to backpack and camp
and dreams of hiking the Appalachian Trail end to end. He also likes to scuba
dive, classic cars, and wood working. Favorite quote is: “Strive for perfection
but don’t be disappointed when you don’t reach it.”

Elliott D. Stephens

Since joining DDS in 2006 as a Driver Examiner 1, Elliott has been promoted to
Driver Examiner II and now serves as CSC Manager of the part-time CSCs in
Americus and Cuthbert. He was the MVP for his little league team, when they
won the summer championships. He enjoys yard work especially mowing and
weeding. Once as he bent down to give a teen his permit, Elliott’s back locked,
and they had to call the ambulance. Later on, he issued the same teen his Class
D. They reminded him about the back issue after the card had printed!

old and it takes four hours under the dryer for her hair to completely dry. Her
Mom always told her to “treat people the way you want to be treated.”
