What's New In IT? Team Member Spotlight
Renee Alonso
Deputy Director of Information Technology (IT)
As Deputy Director of IT, Renee oversees the strategic management of all aspects of the Division including evalua-
tion, development, implementation, and administration. In addition, she ensures that proper practices are followed
in the utilization of technology, following the Agency's developed strategic plan/direction. Renee oversees the de-
velopment and implementation of IT projects and initiatives and provides leadership to managers and staff.
What hobbies or interests do you enjoy away from the office?
Hiking, painting, Zumba, Bachata, working out, almost anything adventurous. And Kayaking!
Tell us about your family?
I have a small family. It is just me and my 20-year-old daughter. My mother passed away in 2014, so it is just my dad and my
sister and my Aunt who live in Georgia.
What’s the best piece of advice you were ever given?
That you can only control what you can control so let the rest go. For example, you can’t control how people respond only how
you respond.
What is your favorite vacation place?
Hawaii Kauai to be specific with Glacier National Park to be a close second.
What do you enjoy most about working at DDS?
The people and the projects!
