With tears in her eyes, one mother said,
“Tamu would never have gone through this
if her parents were more supportive.
Tamu’s letter has really touched my
feelings as a mother.”
Many parents nodded their heads in
agreement. They felt the same way too.
Tamu’s letter was an eye opener. Many of
them could relate to Tamu’s experience.
They knew someone who had been through
a similar situation.
Tamu’s letter brought out issues many
parents never discussed openly. Children
were also allowed to share stories they
knew about other children in marriage. This
was very helpful. Many adults were
shocked. Their children knew a lot more
than they thought.
