Because they were still young, girls in early
marriage were exposed to high health risks
during pregnancy, child birth and after
giving birth.
As young wives, girls often found it difficult
to manage a family and marriage.
Parents as well as children and young
people learnt a lot about the dangers of
early marriage.
Most people did not know that early
marriage was one of the reasons why some
girls and boys migrated from home. Many
people’s eyes were now open.
It was time to do something to save their
children.
