and then mix them together. Add leaves from plants like Rosemary, Basil, Wild sage,
Bay, Pine, Juniper, Eucalyptus and Lemongrass. You can also add aromatic barks like
Cinnamon, Pepper-bark tree (Warburgia salutaris) and Marula. Plus sprinkle a few seeds
of Fennel, Star-anise, and Pepper tree berries - or whatever smells good to you. For a
final touch, add some dried Lemon or Mandarin peel and Pine cones.
Finally choose a beautiful bowl and add your ingredients. To help your potpourri
fragrance last longer add a fixative like Vanilla, Sandalwood, Orris root, or Vetiver.
Souks around Africa and the Middle East are a good source of inspiration for
ingredients to add, even if you can’t visit them. Each of these fixatives should make
up about twenty percent of the potpourri mix. If you want to add a few oils for extra
