Local Testimony is the annual Israeli photojournalism
exhibition, that is displayed alongside the prestigious
international World Press Photo exhibition. The exhibit
is presented each year in Eretz Israel Museum, Tel Aviv,
and is visited by tens of thousands of visitors.

Since it was established in 2003, Local Testimony

works to bring to the front stage the social and
historical importance of journalistic and documentary
photography. The exhibit aims to turn the attention
to the cultural importance of photojournalism and to
demonstrate its social importance in expressing the
complexities of reality. The exhibition presents the
participating photographer’s unique perspective on the
past year’s significant events and the individual personal
stories that will become historic icons.

Local Testimony brings to the forefront the dedicated
work of photo-journalists and puts it in the broad context,
and significance in the long tradition of investigative
journalism in Israel.
