        Karelsky Okatysh has produced

        an experimental batch of non-

fluxed pellets with a high iron

        content

Karelsky Okatysh, the leading iron ore
mining and processing plant in Russia, has
produced an experimental batch of non-fluxed
pellets with an increased iron content of 66.2%.
New products in the amount of about 70 thousand
tons were sent to a customer in Germany.
It was possible to increase the iron
content by almost 1.5% thanks to the introduction of magnetic-gravity separation (MGS) in the
management of concentrate and pellet production. The technology of iron ore beneficiation with
the use of MGS allows to increase the iron content in the iron ore concentrate due to a more
accurate separation of particles. In addition to increasing the percentage of iron, other positive
results were achieved: an increase in the cold strength of the pellets, a decrease in the content
of sulfur, silicon dioxide, alkalis and other impurities. The project for the introduction of MGS
started at Karelsky Okatysh in 2019. Investments in the project in 2020 amounted to more than
        RUB 500 million.

The project for the development of the Pavlovsky lead-

zinc deposit was approved by the State Commission

for the Arctic and supported in the amount of 7 billion

        rubles.

First Mining Company JSC (PGRK, part of the ARMZ Uranium Holding / Mining Division
of the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom) is implementing a project to develop the
Pavlovskoye polymetallic deposit in the Novaya Zemlya archipelago. It is the largest deposit in
Russia with reserves of 47.7 million tons of ore (2.49 million tons of zinc, 549 thousand tons of
lead and 1.194 thousand tons of silver). The project involves the construction of the northernmost
mining enterprise, the characteristics of which will allow Pavlovsky Mining and
Processing Plant (GOK) to take a leading position among domestic producers.
The total investment will amount to 71 billion rubles, 7 billion in
the form of a subsidy PGRK will receive from the state budget for
the construction of infrastructure facilities - water supply networks,
treatment facilities, a helipad, and highways.
