The result of joint work is a new type of product

MMK-METIZ OJSC together with MMK
PJSC mastered cold-deformed reinforcing steel
of a periodic profile with a diameter of
9.6 mm, strength class 1500K
for reinforcement of reinforced
concrete sleepers according to TU 0930-011-01115863-
2008.
High-strength reinforcement with a diameter of
9.6 mm, strength class 1500K, in terms of the set of
requirements, significantly exceeds reinforcement of strength
class 1400K and 1450K and differs from their counterparts in accordance
with GOST 5781, GOST 10884, GOST 7348, used for reinforcing stressed reinforced concrete
products (building floors, spans, supports bridges, reinforced concrete piles, power transmission
line supports, lighting masts, TV towers, etc.).
The reinforcement of strength class 1500K has increased relaxation and long-term
durability, ensuring the operational reliability and durability of sleepers (reduction of the overhaul
interval and track maintenance costs), and, consequently, of railway lines.
High indicators of product quality will reduce the breakage of reinforcement under tension,
reduce the energy consumption of the process of reinforcing sleepers, increase its productivity,
and provide a significant increase in the service life of the sleepers.

Zvezda shipyard began construction of the seventh

Aframax tanker

The Zvezda shipbuilding complex has begun construction of the seventh Aframax-class
tanker. In total, SSK Zvezda’s order book contains a series of 12 Aframax-class tankers. At the
moment, 6 of them are under construction at the shipyard. The lead vessel of the series has
been launched and is undergoing sea trials.
An agreement on the construction of two oil tankers with subsequent chartering was
concluded between NK Rosneft PJSC, SSK Zvezda LLC, Arctic Leasing LLC (a company of the
VEB-Leasing group) and SKF Eco LLC (a company of the Sovcomflot group) in September 2018
as part of the IV Eastern Economic Forum. The planned date for the delivery of the tanker to
the customer is 2022.
Zvezda is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment
enabling the production of these technologically complex large-
tonnage vessels. The most modern shipyard in Russia uses high-
precision methods of marking, welding and cutting metal, including laser, as
well as 3D modeling.
