the sharp wit and fast responses like

many people do, especially in English.

Usually, I was an introverted person and

just wanted to have quiet time by myself.

How could I even preach?

After our church was established, I

occasionally had to fill in to preach in

front of the congregation in Chinese

when our pastor was not available. I had

to write down my thoughts and

organized the topics, evidences, and

talking points before I could go to the

podium. Sometimes, I had to rewrite the

draft repeatedly to make it more fluent.

English was still not my forte as I

struggled at work too. After I came to

the US, I could not comprehend people’s

thoughts in English, or engage a

meaningful conversation and I probably

missed a few points when delivering
