Once the child has been shown to their room, give them some time to settle in and unpack. Explain any particular features of their room to them at this time.
If the bedroom has a lock, please ensure that the key is removed - This for safety reasons. Whenever possible children should have their own room however if children are sharing a room they should share with another child of a similar age and the same gender. The room should be warm, tidy and clean and have appropriate furniture, for storage and for the child / student to study. Students should try to keep their room tidy and make their bed in the morning.
Bathroom facilities should be lockable. If the bathroom is not for exclusive use by the child please let the child know when the most suitable time would be for them to use the bathroom
If they would like to do any laundry, let them know when the best time to do this is.
