THE GROWING QUESTION
By Gareth Blanshard
At the end of a long day I usually go out
to my favorite spot in the garden. Sit
down and light up a joint without even
thinking about it. After that I usually
walk around to where my cannabis
plants are growing and I spend time
either watering or checking or simply
chilling with them. It's this type of
freedom that has come with the
decriminalization of cannabis in South
Africa. I remember days when lighting
up a joint outdoors would put you on
high (no pun intended) alert. You would
be paranoid from the moment the joint
was lit up until it was put out. And even
longer after that. But these days its
become so much easier.....for some.
So we are two years later after the
decriminalization of cannabis for
personal use and cultivation. Two years
after we were given the freedom to use
the plant, and yet there is still a
noticeably big demographic of people
who are still buying cannabis instead of
growing.
