Now the question is

why? WHY…

There are of course many
reasons why one would not want
to grow or be able to grow. For
example, one may reside in a
small flat with no garden in a
complex where the body
corporate does not allow it. The
list may go on and on but what
about those who don't have
restrictions or lack of growing
space? Is it due to a lack of
knowledge or fear of not being
able to grow? Or is it due to that

ugly snake in the grass...STIGMA?

After speaking to several people
from various age groups I found
that there is a larger number of
the younger generation who have
still not taken up the gardening
tools. There were many reasons
why, but the most common was
because of fear.

Fear

The most common reason for not
growing yet ... Fear!! Fear of what
their family, parents, friends, or
community might think. Or fear
that they would get into trouble
with the police. And fear that they
will not be able to grow. There
was also a large number who just

are not bothered to even try.

So how do we address the fear
that a lot of would-be grower’s
face? How do we turn it around
so that the stigma around weed is
addressed?
