Dance aims
Control and Coordination
To improve coordination and control through skipping
Motor Skills
To practise several gross motor skills including twirling, manipulative skills through dancing with a scarf (including throwing and catching) and locomotor skills through skipping around the room and through pretending to fly a magic carpet around the room
Musicality
To dance in time with the music
Spatial Awareness
To negotiate the space while moving around the room by adjusting speed and direction to avoid obstacles (including other children)
Strength and Fitness
To develop leg strength and cardio fitness through skipping
