Same as for pre-schoolers
1. The children play their percussion instruments to the pulse as they sing the chorus only. They raise their instruments and shake them above their heads for, ‘hey!’. You play percussion with them.
2. "The reindeer are all sleeping. We need to play and sing very quietly this time to make sure we don't wake them up. They need to be well rested so they can help Santa to deliver all the presents". Sing and play the chorus quietly.
3. "It's time for the reindeer to help Santa deliver all of the presents. Let's wake them up by singing and playing loudly." Sing and play the chorus loudly
4. Repeat activities 1, 2 & 3, accompanying with your melodic instrument.
5. Sing the whole song (including the verse), using a medium volume. The children can join in with singing the verse if they know it, otherwise they can just sing along with the chorus. Everyone plays their percussion instruments, as before, throughout.
