   1. Hold a bowl of pease pudding in your hand. You sing the song
making the appropriate noises and actions during the crotchet rests. At the end of the song, rub your tummy and say, "Mmm delicious!" Repeat several times, giving the older toddlers a chance to join in.
Alternatively, you can sing ‘Old MacDonald Had a Farm’ as described in the song bank.
 1. Hold a bowl of pease pudding in your hand. You sing the song making the appropriate noises and actions during the crotchet rests.
2. As above only the children help with the actions and sounds during the “gaps” in the song.
3. You sing the song on your own and a volunteer stands and does the sounds and actions during the “gaps” in the song on their own.
4. The children join in with the singing as well as the sounds and actions during the “gaps” in the song.
5. "Let's make our own pease pudding." The children stand in a circle. You walk around the inside of the circle, tapping each child on the head on the beat and blowing on those children who fall on the 'yuk' rest. The children who are blown on must go into the porridge pot (they 'fall down' and sit in the middle of the circle). The game repeats until all children are in the middle of the circle. Once the porridge is finished, mime stirring it, pouring it into a bowl and tasting it. Using names, tell the children what they taste like. They will find this funny.

     See the Candlelight
    See the candlelight (blow),
See how big and bright (blow).
You don't need it when you're sleeping, Blow it out at night (blow).
      1. Hold up three fingers to represent candles on your cake. Blow one of the candles out (and tuck away that finger) during each crotchet rest as you sing the song. If there are parents in the class they can blow on their baby's fingers and help them to tuck their fingers away one at a time.
Same as for pre- schoolers. Activity two is only suitable for older toddlers.
Alternatively, you can sing ‘Old MacDonald Had a Farm’ as described in the song bank.
   1. Hold up three fingers to represent candles on your cake. Blow one of the candles out (and tuck away that finger) during each crotchet rest as you sing the song. Try teaching the song one line at the time. Remind the children to remember to sing as well as blow out the candles.
2. The children are in a circle. Three children who are sitting in a row stand to represent the candles. During each rest, the children sitting down blow out one candle and one child should fall to the ground. Make sure you explain before the song the order in which the candles are to fall and use eye contact during the song to make it clear.
