I'm telling off a baby bumble bee, Won't my mummy be so proud of me. I'm telling off a baby bumble bee. (spoken) Uh oh! It's grumpy!
I'm setting free a baby bumble bee, Won't my mummy be so proud of me. I'm setting free a baby bumble bee. DCG
Look, it’s happy!

Gone to make us honey, (spoken) Yummy!
Activities for ELCs and pre-schools
1. Perform the song for the children using the same actions as the toddlers. Adults to help children where possible.
2. Accompany the singing with your melodic instrument.
Activities for public classes with parents/carers
1. Parents bounce babies on their laps to the pulse and tickle their tummies on ‘Ouch! It stung me!’ for first verse. Parents hold babies’ hands and help them to do ‘telling off’ action with pointer fingers to the pulse for the second verse. Parents help flap babies’ arms to the pulse and sway side to side for the third verse and pat their tummies on ‘Yummy!’. If any of the babies don’t like their arms being flapped, adults can just sway their babies side to side to pulse instead.
2. Accompany the singing with your melodic instrument.
1. The children take an “imaginary” bumble bee each and put it into their hands. Sing with actions. Mime cupping a baby bumble bee in hands, which move from side to side to pulse for first verse. Quickly pull hands apart and make a silly face on, 'Ouch!'. Pointer finger ‘telling off’ the bee to the pulse on the second verse, hands on side of face for ‘Uh oh’ and hands on hips with a grumpy face on ‘grumpy’. Flying bee arms out to the sides and swaying side to side to pulse for the third verse. Point to sky for ‘look’ and two thumbs up with a happy face on ‘happy’. Rub tummies on ‘Yummy!’.
Practise saying the spoken parts two or three times in between each verse as the children enjoy saying these words.
2. Accompany the singing with your melodic instrument.
