              To validate the findings from the case study, the PM and gas levels were recorded at the beginning and
              the end of the case study out of curiosity. The humidity levels before and after were also recorded. The
              results below indicate for both dwellings that signficant changes to the indoor air quality levels (parti-
              cle matter). Simple everyday tasks such as cooking and showering combined with flaws in the building
              envelope contribute to the increase in this number. The results validate the need for constant air man-
              agement either through HRV or ERV units which can treat the air and re-circulate it for suitabel human
              consumption.These results are alarming, PM levels are considered safe as long as a person breathes in
              an average of 12 micograms per cubic metre of air or less.
