I LOVE
Original “Tôi Yêu” by ĐỖ TRÀNG MỸ HẠNH
I like to watch those men at old age
Who regard the youth as in the ripe stage;
Though already passed the green years,
They still can give them multiple cheers.
I admire the wrinkled forehead of my Dad
Furrowed by the difficulties of life you had;
Your eye beam expresses your brilliance,
Looking at unwise children with tolerance.
I cherish your worn shoulders that I embrace;
Tired of so many heavy burdens in your place
You still squeeze out your narrow measure
Indulging descendants, memories to treasure.
I appreciate under your direction with sanity
Your leading us into intellect and humanity.
And I love million times, Dad, your laughter,
Eye beam, forehead, nowadays and hereafter.
