 A Report to Teklemariam
Paulos said, "Let me go and see what hinders the new believers."
The preacher and his helpers felt disturbed and even
dizzy. He said, "Let's get out of this house." The African moon shone resplendently, but they saw a large Acacia tree
near and went to stand in its shade.
They had barely found that cover, when they saw the
angry guard return who had left in the heat of opposition. It seemed as if he had blown a trumpet and called the whole association saying, "We need to take these men into custody.
They have brought Pente doctrines to disturb our society." A large crowd of men, women, and soldiers carrying
rods, swords, and rifles filled the house the group had vacated and many stood at the door unable to get in. The
group saw plainly and heard all they said, "Where is that rebel? We will teach him a thing or two."
The listeners thanked God for rescuing them from this mess.
When the would-be attackers could fmd no rebels
they got angry with the man who called them for nothing. After fifteen minutes he yelled, "Here are the men!" The
people stormed together snarling, "We've got them now!" And when they saw no one they turned on the guard with
insults and yells of "Liar! Liar!"
Hezkiel and his saints stood still, no one saw them,
Paulos and the six new believers did not return. Silence
reigned. One of the believers suggested, "Why don't we go back in the house?"
"Why should we go in when God said get out?" Hezkiel answered, "One of the brothers I baptized last year
lives about an hour from here. We will trust Jesus to lead us to his house."
