3. Hired as Head Men’s Basketball Coach at North Carolina State in 1946.
a. Record of 377-134 (18 seasons) at NC State.
b. Coached 10 Southern Conference championship teams.
c. Won 4 Atlantic Coast Conference titles.
d. Started & hosted the “Dixie Classic,” winning 7 titles
e. Wolfpack teams qualified for 5 NCAA Tournaments and 2 NIT tournaments
f. 3-time ACC “Coach-of-the Year”
4. Credited w/ the tradition of “cutting down the nets” after winning a basketball championship
5. Inducted into the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame in 1964

Marvin Cave
High School: French Lick (1943) College: Butler (1948) Induction: 1994
1. Head Coach at Frankfort High School from 1952-56.
a. Won 3 Sectional titles at Frankfort.
b. His 1953-54 Hot Dogs defeated both Milan (State Champ)
& Muncie Central (Runner-up) during regular season.
2. In addition to Frankfort, he served as Head Coach at Worthington
and Decatur Central high schools.
3. As a player, led French Lick H.S. to 20-win seasons in 1941-42 & 1942-43.
4. Played college basketball at Indiana State (1944), Berea College
(1945), & Butler (1946-48).
Maurice Chadwick
High School: Crawfordsville (1920) College: Wabash (1925) Induction: 1971
1. Played 2 years @ New Richmond & 2 years @ Crawfordsville.
2. Played basketball @ Wabash College & was a member of the Little Giants
“mythical” National Championship Team.
3. Played professional basketball for 11 years w/ the New York Celtics, Fort Wayne
K of C, & Akron Firestone.
4. Gymnasium @ Wabash College is named in his honor.
