this doesn’t mean that the climber will be completely safe. Though being killed is not likely, one can
get bruises, cuts, sprains and even fractures if they do not have the required physical ability or train-
ing to do this sport. A variation of this sport that is even more dangerous is free solo rock climbing.
This means that a person goes rock climbing alone without any protective gear. This is not only
life-threatening but there will be no one to assist you if you get stuck or injured.
With minimal oxygen and steep dangerous paths, mountaineering is not what most people
dare to accomplish. Around one in every ten people freeze, fall or get crushed to death attempting
to conquer the world’s tallest peaks. Avalanches, falls, tripping and frostbite are the main culprits
for hundreds of deaths. However, if done safely, this sport too can be a mesmerizing and beautiful
experience for the climber.
Life is full of risks. One never knows the true consequences of what they do; unless they do
it. However, instead of avoiding dangers, we should learn to take on them. These people who dare
to be unique and who dare to take risks are those who ultimately succeed. Dangerous sports help us
overcome our fear and help us project our inner daredevil.
