much time is spent by
your dispensers looking
for prescriptions only
to find they are not
ready yet or that there
is an owing, and the Second question – how
prescription is not yet often are our work
completed? processes thrown into
disarray by someone going
on leave or calling in sick,
but the patients just keep
rolling up expecting their
medications to be ready
not realising we are running
behind schedule?
Third question – who
likes bank holidays
especially Easter?
All the above cause disruption to our
usual way of working and increase
workload. But rather than letting these
disturbances derail the efficient way of
working we strive to achieve, how about
us taking control? Surely that would be
the sensible thing to do.
We probably all have access to accurx
messaging facility so why not use the
capability to open up a channel of
communication which can keep patients
informed and minimise the time wasted
looking for prescriptions. Not only that,
you will improve the patient experience
too.
