Can Golden Tote support you

              in realising your Pharmacy

              First opportunity and reduce

              the impact of the planned
              increase to minimum wage?

             WHY IT’S

             MORE

             RELEVANT

             THAN EVER?

We launched the Golden Tote proposition three years ago,
offering members the opportunity to realise increased
              operational efficiency through harnessing barcode
technology allowing the dispensary team to seamlessly
assemble patients’ medication directly from a tote.
This provided members the opportunity to reduce their
operating costs or redirect resource to margin rich services.
Importantly, by moving the clinical and accuracy check to
the front of the dispensing process, members were also able
to free up pharmacist time to spend with patients. Golden
Tote also allowed members to free up cash tied up in stock,
to further invest in their business.

At the time of launch pharmacy was already feeling the
impact of the fixed funding pot for the CPCF in England and
increasing dispensing volumes across all the four nations of
the United Kingdom, but we could not have imagined the
massive impact that inflation would have over the presiding
few years; culminating in the latest announcement on the
increases to living wage before Christmas. Community
Pharmacy England has reported that pharmacy has seen a
real time funding cut of 30% during the period of the five-
year community pharmacy contractual framework (CPCF).
The challenges we have seen to funding in England have
been seen in all countries with increases to funding not
keeping pace with rising operating costs.
Cash flow is also under strain with further reductions in
Category M announced, as we continue to pay back funding
received to support us through the challenges associated
with the COVID-19 pandemic where community pharmacy
              played such a vital role.
