So, what will the latest proposals mean
for an average contractor?
The cost is relative to the number of staff, and we have tabulated the expected
impact if a member was to maintain pay differentials in their business. We have
also calculated with on-cost of 25%.
Number of Hourly rate Annualised cost impact
staff impact (Based on full time equivalent)
1 £1.02 £2486
2 £2.04 £4,972
4 £4.08 £9,944
6 £6.12 £14,916
8 £8.16 £19,888
10 £10.20 £24,860
The labour costs increases are making investment into support staff to realise
the potential of expansions to the contract such as pharmacy first in England
untenable. So, this month we are exploring different ways in which members are
seeking to increase efficiency to support realising service growth opportunities
and the increasing volumes of items dispensed.
