A: In Scotland

For items that are listed in Part 7 of the Scottish Drug Tariff the Drug Tariff
price will be reimbursed even if a specific manufacturer is indicated. If not
listed in Part 7 then the reimbursement will be based upon what is endorsed.
Even if a brand is specified in brackets next to the generic item (e.g.)
Omeprazole (Losec) 20mg Capsules) or within the body of the script,
reimbursement will still be based on the generic price.

A: Northern Ireland
Generic products listed in the Northern Ireland Drug Tariff are reimbursed at
the Tariff price regardless of whether a certain manufacturer is indicated.
If a brand is specified in brackets next to the generic item (e.g. Omeprazole
(Losec) 20mg Capsules) or within the body of the script, reimbursement will
still be based on the generic price unless the prescriber specifies that only
that brand is to be supplied by stating for example “Supply Losec Brand only”.
In this instance the reimbursement will be based on the branded product.
