Checking MDS scheme rebates

This requires a bit of digging if I am honest, but it is an essential
task. Again, ask in the dispensary if they are checking the rebates
received and ask someone to show you how they are checking. If
you don’t get anyone jumping up to show you then the likelihood is
that it is not occurring.

Each wholesaler informs you of your rebates either via the portal or
via their monthly statements. Let’s look at how we would check the
rebates on schemes via PSUK. You will need to log onto the portal.

The Report you are really interested
in is the MDS Discount Report.

I am going to go through the
process I would follow to carry out
a check. I’m using Ipsen Decapeptyl
as the example MDS. The scheme is
detailed on the portal.

Now let me check how many
of these lines this practice has
purchased in the month. We
can see the sales figures on
the ‘Sales by Supplier’ report.
