                            CONSTITUTION
                             CONSTITUTION

The Indian Constitution, the longest of any

sovereign nation in the world, offers a thorough
framework for directing and governing the nation

while taking into consideration its variety in
social, cultural, and religious values. For a nation

as diverse and complicated as India, the success
of the Indian Constitution never fails to fascinate
                                                  B r a n d o n , M i s s o u r i
and inspire experts from all over the world.

The Constitution of India is a special document
that served as a model for many other
constitutions, especially South Africa's. Why then

do we require a constitution? A constitution is
crucial because it guarantees that those who make

choices on behalf of the people make decisions
fairly. It also sets out the methods in which those
in positions of authority may be held responsible

to the people they are supposed to serve.

We need to value our constitution. And how can
we do that? By upholding the Constitution, its
principles, and associated symbols, such as the
National Anthem and Flag, by promoting peace
and a feeling of universal fraternity among all

Indians, regardless of their personal religious
beliefs, by valuing and preserving the rich
heritage of our composite culture, by showing
compassion for all living things, by preserving
and enhancing the natural environment, forests,
lakes, rivers, and wildlife. These duties serve as a
constant reminder of both the fundamental and Bhoomika Karkera

democratic rules and the nation's goals.
