                   1.  Definition and function of recount text
                             Have  you  ever  read  a  story  that  retells  past  events  in

                        sequence? Well, stories or texts like that are called recount texts.

                        Recount text is a text that lists and describes past experiences

                        by  retelling  events  in  the  order  in  which  they  happened  in

                        chronological order (Knapp & Watskin, 2005). The purpose of
                        a  recount  text  is  to  retell  events  with  the  purpose  of  either

                        informing  or  entertaining  their  audience  (or  both).  Recounts

                        can  be  found  in  a variety  of  contexts,  such  as  news  articles,
