TREASURE TRAIL AT COALPORT IN OCTOBER

It was a most enjoyable event on a pleasantly sunny morning.
Ten Rotarians and partners arrived early at 10.00 a.m. at the
Coalport China Museum to meet David and Trish who had planned
and verified the trail and the clues.
After about two hours two teams arrived back but it was sometime
later that the third team appeared, having taken a wrong but scenic
                                                      route.

                     The Winning Team

The winning team was David & Sue Loftus & Peter Marsh who
won with a tie breaker after lunch to outwit Keith, Christine &
Colin. Roger, Carole, Tim and Sandra did not get a prize for
arriving last and with the fewest clues correct.

                                                                               He gave them no clues

A total of 21 then enjoyed a Sunday Lunch at The Shakespeare Inn where they met
a five year old lad in his Pudsey Bear outfit who had just done a long walk with his
Gran on Leg 4 of the T50 trail in aid of Children in Need. We had a whip-round to
boost his effort to the tune of £57. His Gran kept her promise to mention us on
                                          their Facebook page.

DG ROBYN DAVIES VISITED THE CLUB ON MONDAY 9TH AUGUST

We were able to welcome DG Robyn, and her husband PDG Trevor, for the annual DG visit to relay the Rotary message for
the year. Robyn explained how she had reached the dizzy heights of being a DG. Coming from a family with a strong
Rotary background, she became involved in Rotaract at a young age but was unable to become a Rotarian at the end of
that stage. She joined Inner Wheel until finally ladies were allowed into Rotary!
The theme this year is Serve to Change Lives and she spoke of the seven areas on which to focus.

                                                                                                Environment
                                       Participation
             Increase Service
              impact

                                  Expand Adapt Fellowship
                                 the reach

Robyn asked why people had joined Rotary and, although many said to give service, she recognises that fellowship is also
one of the main reasons and one on which Clubs should focus.
This fits in with our Club plans as the FH&S Committee are trying to get the social side of the Club going again as it is this
which members have been missing and which cannot be gained from Zoom meetings.
       President Colin thanked Robyn.
