President’s End of Year Evening at Penn Golf Club

The secret was well kept by Rotarians and with difficulty by the personnel at the Golf Club as David plays golf regularly
there. As he arrived with his chauffeur Colin, David was surprised where he was when the blindfolds were removed. Yes,
Colin had taken them on a tour of the countryside and given a running commentary of all he and Tracey could not see –
making an elaborate account of what they were supposedly seeing!

After being greeted by 27 Rotarians and partners, everyone sat down to a three course meal in their tables of six. Whilst
Colin was making his speech to David and about to present the President’s Plate, entertainment was provided by Barbara
who went to hit Ken for an insulting remark, but he moved and she fell off her chair. It needs to be emphasised that Ken sat
by and watched Alan and Andy come gallantly to her rescue. Thus the evening ended with a final toast and everyone
returned home after a very sociable and enjoyable evening.
