About the authors
Stuart Barrie is a retired engineer now serving apprenticeship at ‘sitting quietly staring
at nothing’ and ‘visiting the delectable mountains on the wings of laughter’.
Elizabeth Baxter is joint Executive Director of Holy Rood House, Centre for Health and
Pastoral Care, in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, and the Centre for the Study of Theology and
Health. As a priest and counsellor, she accompanies people on their therapeutic and
spiritual journeys. Her liturgy springs from these experiences.
Alix Brown is an independent therapist working with adolescents in the care system.
She lives in Shropshire with her partner and a range of animals.
Ruth Burgess is a writer and editor who lives in the North East of England with a large
and hungry black and white cat. She is currently working part time with the Alzheimer’s
Society supporting people with memory loss. She likes fireworks and growing flowers
and food. Ruth is a member of the Iona Community.
David Coleman is parent to Taliesin and Melangell, married to Zam, and works with
Barrhead United Reformed Church, near Glasgow. He longs to see a fully inclusive,
united free catholic Church, and enjoys experimenting in making worship a more audio
visually enriching experience, in order to uncover the subversive potential of orthodox
Christianity. He is a member of the Iona Community.
John Coleman is an Australian singer/songwriter who has produced a number of CDs in
the gospel/folk genre. He is also a long-term member of L’Arche (an International feder-
ation of faith communities that have people with an intellectual disability at the heart).
John’s songs are very much inspired by the lived spirituality of L’Arche and are used in
many L’Arche communities around the world. CDs can be purchased by contacting
region@larche.org.au – the profits going to support the work of L’Arche in Australia.
