to learn something new. What she gained, however, went far beyond initial expectations.
“Every time I finish each session,” Helena reflected, “I feel better mentally and physically.” She cited increased flexibility, stronger muscles, and a calmer mind as direct outcomes of the practice. Most memorable to her was the meditation at the end of each class— “It helped me feel more relaxed and calm about life.” For Helena, Authentic Yoga became more than a class—it was a guide toward wellness.
Wina – More Than Just a Stretch
In the Summer of 2007, Wina joined Adhiyogi’s class at George Mason University with hopes of managing stress and physical pain. But she discovered something much deeper.
“I learnt a lot more than I expected,” she admitted. From understanding the historical and spiritual context of Yoga to experiencing the essential role of meditation, Wina found the sessions enriching and enlightening. Even after long work hours, she pushed herself to attend— “Which I did not regret. The class is awesome.” She looked forward to returning in the Fall.
Gloria – Rediscovering the Roots of Yoga
Gloria, a Postdoctoral Researcher in Psychology, found herself deeply moved by Adhiyogi’s approach. She remarked, “This class has surprised me in a very positive way.”
Unlike modern, fitness-centric Yoga classes, Adhiyogi’s sessions focused on depth, authenticity, and traditional values. “Adhiyogi makes it a deep and enriching experience,” Gloria shared. “It is, as he calls it, ‘Authentic Yoga.’” For a scholar of the mind, the balance of body, breath, and consciousness was both professionally and personally impactful.
Jessica – A Strong Start
Jessica, a Ph.D. student in Computer Science, stepped into Yoga for the first time with Adhiyogi’s class. Though some of the exercises were challenging, she embraced them with optimism: “I suppose in time, I shall get better.”
Her experience highlights how even those new to Yoga found a warm and supportive space in Adhiyogi’s sessions. “Great class!” she concluded with genuine appreciation.
Alfred Rao – Mind, Body, and Feet
For Software Engineer Alfred Rao, the combination of chanting and physical postures made the class memorable. “This was a good class. I liked the chanting and exercises both,” he said.
He also gave constructive feedback, suggesting more foot-related activities. Nonetheless, he recognized the quality and clarity Adhiyogi brought to each session— “The class was well organized.”
Linda Ellen – A Journey Beyond the Ordinary
Lind Ellen, an advanced Yoga student from Maryland, experienced Adhiyogi’s class and quickly realized what made it unique. She had heard from another student, Danny, that Adhiyogi’s sessions were unlike the typical Yoga classes—and she found that to be true.
“Your style of teaching is indeed more unique than any I have experienced,” she said. Though living far in Crofton, MD made regular attendance difficult, Linda expressed her intention to continue learning through Adhiyogi’s audio and video materials. “I do look forward to learning a great deal more from you.”
