Base Images
• Are pre-defined by CloudCenter
• Are common OS’s and designed to be mapped
to your companies golden “Base OS”
images/templates
• Image mappings for Base Images are done
per region when the region is added
− The CloudCenter account that adds the cloud
region is responsible for setting up the image
mappings for the Base Images in that region
− NO other account can update the Base Image
mappings for that cloud region
• CloudCenter shares its own images in Amazon
and populates the Base Image mappings with
those AMIs when you add an AWS region.
− They are designed to provide limited functionality
for testing or demonstration purposes
− The image mappings should be updated to point
to you own “base OS” AMIs for production use
