Curiosity Cabin
The Curiosity Cabin is a
quiet space used by the
preschool room for up to
eight children. It gives the
children a place to explore
natural objects or obsolete
items that they might not
have seen before. This
promotes curiosity,
discovery and investigation. We encourage the
children to become
independent learners
and they have the
freedom to play with
the resources and
loose parts, however
they choose.
If a child can hold a pencil, write their name,
count to 100 and recognise all the colours and
shapes but doesn't know how to make friends or
manage their emotions and can't resolve or
reflect on conflict, is not independent and does
not have self-help skills then the pencil will
remain unwritten with, the numbers uncounted and
the colours and shapes unrecognised…
