The expert speaker of the session was Dr. Mahavir B. Chougule. Associate Professor, School of Pharmacy, University of Mississippi,
USA. Dr. Chougule shared his views on pathophysiology and advanced therapies in the treatment of lung cancer. He informed the
participants how the success rate of lung treatment still remains unsatisfactory. In the conventional therapies the drug is administered
at a high dose and associated with toxic effects. Therefore, he emphasized on the need for having site-specific targeted delivery of
therapeutically active agents for effective treatment of lung cancer. The speaker shared his experiences on working on live industrial
projects where they have been able to deliver the chemo drug using targeted biodegradable tumor vasculature homing lipidic
nanocarriers to lung tumor cells while sparing normal cells. The speaker shared the remarkable achievement of investigating the use
of the developed targeted nanocarriers on lung cancer xenografts/orthotopic tumor models.

      Samvaad with Kshamta:

It is an initiative taken by Team Kshamta where the team members of Kshamta had conversations about the hardships and struggles
with the house helps and helpers around them. The interview made all of us realize how tough were the months of lockdown for
people with small jobs and how they made the ends meet. Sometimes listening to the conversations make us realize how fortunate we
are to have our family members who work so hard to fulfill our demands and expectations.
