               Generic Name: Adrenaline

               Brand names: EpiPen, Aspen Adrenaline Injection

               Side effects/precautions:

               Inflammation,  sepsis  in  proposed  inj  region;  cerebral  arteriosclerosis;  amide-type  anaesthetic,
               sympathomimetic  amine,  sulfite  hypersensitivity.  High  dose,  CV  disease  (eg  angina  pectoris,
               degenerative heart disease), cerebrovascular insufficiency.
               .
               Interactions:

               Antiarrhythmic drugs, Amiodarone and Quinidine.

               Reasons for interactions:

               Antiarrhythmic drugs: it should be used with caution in patients receiving antiarrhythmic drugs e.g.
               mexiletine, or any other agents structurally related to local anaesthetics, since potentiation of cardiac
               effects may occur.

               Amiodarone : This combination has been reported to precipitate seizures and to lead to severe sinus
               bradycardia  and  a  long  sinoatrial  arrest.  Until  more  experience  with  concurrent  use  of  lidocaine
               (lignocaine)  and  amiodarone  becomes  available,  patients  receiving  the  combination  should  be
               monitored carefully.
