Malaysia is a unique country because it consists of people with different races and religions but still
be able to live harmony and peace. Malaysia is a role model for some country due to this matter. This
happened because of the legislation of our leader which make this unity between races and religions
as a main priority to lead to this country into a better future parallel to the country vision.
There are lot of way to foster the sense of unity among the people of Malaysia. One of the ways is
through leisure activities and sports. Sports are seen as an activity that can strengthening inter-racial
harmony and also enhancing personal health. This matter is acknowledged by every country in this
world. With sport, it can not only unite the people, but also can destroy the political barrier between
races. In other word, sport is the best agent to unite the people of Malaysia that consist of
different races and religions. Community involvement in sports can help release the tension of mind
in somebody mind and also lighten their mental burden. Sport can help boost the blood circulation,
reduce excess fat in the blood vessels and heat, help with excretion and remove unwanted organs.
Ironically, the involvement of people in sports is an effective way of creating a healthy society.
Unity can be nurtured through participation in sport activities because strong relationships can
produce a strong team. Supporters can also be united while sharing their interests in sports. Thus, the
values of unity such as cooperation, tolerance and putting the interest of the nation and the team
above self-interest can be borne out by engaging is sports.
Methodology
A sport event was held at India’s company, PUSASDA. 20 trainees involved in this event. The purpose
of this event is to observe the reaction of the trainee while they were playing sport with random team
and different races. The Methodologies of our research in order to collect data are by interview. The
interview will be focusing on the participant to their perspective how sports can retrieve trust and
teamwork and also united people regardless races and religions. By interviewing the
participant personally, they are all agree on this opinion that sports can eliminate racism which mean
it is good because racism create barriers among races. There are few questions asked in the interview
sessions regarding to this research just to identify their opinions on this topic. The trainees were
randomly chosen for the interview but the priority goes to trainee with
different races, ethnic and religions.
