This colourful town has become known as ‘The Town of Festivals’, due to the hard work it puts into creating events for both the community and the visitor to enjoy. They’re not satisfied with just one or two, in fact it could be said that Bromyard has a festival for everything including, Scarecrows, Town Criers, Jazz, Folk, Speed and would you believe marmalade!
Take a trip to the north east of Herefordshire and you will find Bromyard, just a short distance from the Worcestershire border. Famous for hop production, apples and pears, it’s
hardly surprising that Herefordshire’s award-winning Wye Valley Brewery is located on the road between Bromyard and Hereford.
Annual event highlights include Nozstock music festival (could this be the Glastonbury of Herefordshire?) and Bromyard Gala where you can enjoy
steam engines, vintage cars, craft stalls, livestock and many country show activities. The town is also host to the new Festival of Speed, a great day out for fans of motoring history and attended by over 5000 people last year.
The town itself is a flow of small independent shops and businesses and you’ll feel a real community spirit. To take in some local history the Bromyard and Districts Local History Society is on hand to help with its library, archive and exhibition space which is open three days a week.
