1.2.4 Microcomputer

This type of computer is the smallest, least expensive, and most commonly used today.
Microcomputers are also called personal computers (PCs) because they are designed for individual use.

They are built with a single microprocessor as the central processing unit (CPU).

Microcomputers are used at home, in schools, and in businesses for tasks such as word processing,
browsing the internet, playing games, watching movies, and running various applications. They usually

support a single user at a time.

There are different forms of microcomputers, such as desktops, laptops, tablets, and smartphones.
Each of these devices varies in size, portability, and performance, but all fall under the microcomputer

category.

Because of their low cost and wide availability, microcomputers are the most popular type of computer
in the world today.
