Clara is also continuing her education and is a
                student at CSUMB.
Alex is a senior technical trainer with Tesla.
Originally from Willow Glen in San Jose, he
                attended WyoTech for Automotive Technology
before moving to Monterey. The couple
eventually moved to their Creekside home in
2022, where they make their home today. Clara
was born in Monterey at CHOMP and grew
up in Corral de Tierra attending school in the
                Washington Union School District.
“Alexander and I met at the Running
Iron restaurant in Carmel Valley, when we
were both living there,” Clara explains. “Our
anniversary is December 10th, so we take an
annual trip to celebrate our special day. This
year we went to Hawaii, but when HWY1 is
open we drive down to Cambria and stay at the
                Squibb House to celebrate.”
“We attend church and are on our church
leadership council at Church of the Wayfarer
in Carmel,” Alex states. “Clara also works as
the Wedding Coordinator there. We are both
very involved in outreach for the homeless
in Monterey. Clara volunteers at Dorothy’s
Kitchen and First United Methodist in Salinas
which both do work feeding the needy daily.
We organize a monthly dinner through our
church for an IHELP (Interfaith Homeless
Emergency Lodging Program) and a men’s
group once or twice a month. It’s an awesome
                organization!” Alex enthuses.
When the couple isn’t working or
volunteering, they enjoy hobbies like – hiking,
home design, dining, wine tasting, playing Socko
Softball, pickleball, swimming, going to the
beach, and 4-wheel driving in their 1997 Land
Cruiser. Alex says, “We’re also sports fans; for
hockey it’s the San Jose Sharks, football is all
about the ‘49ers, and baseball we’re Giants fans!”
