attitudes towards e-learning. All questions were written in English and Arabic since
participants were Arabic English speakers.

The questionnaire (Appendix I) was closedended and about 17 questions were
asked. These questions focused on participants, views, opinions, and attitudes.
Closeended questions allowed respondents to provide responses based on the 5point
Likert scale. The scale ranged from 1 to 5 with 1 denoting strongly disagree and 5
denoting strongly agree.

The questionnaire consisted of five sections:
Part I is about student’s perception regarding online learning (5 questions)
Part II is about student’s delivery or format preferences (3 questions)
Part III is about students’ perceptions of interactions (4 questions)
Part IV is about students’ perceptions of individual features (5 questions)
Part V is a yes or no type of question regarding internet connections and plans
to take a fully online course.

Participants and sample size

A questionnaire was given as a hard copy to 80 students of undergraduate
physical therapy students of Jazan University. A total of 77 questionnaires were filled
by participants and returned. This represented a 96 % return rate. The sample 77
participants were considered large enough to make the results of the present study
representative and generalize to the general population.

   Sampling Technique
Data was collected using a convenient sampling technique.
The use of this nonprobability sampling technique was informed by the

convenient availability of participants from which data was collected. It is the most
appropriate method for users to select respondents based on convenience of their
availability, accessibility, or proximity. The use of this method made it easy for the
researcher to sample and collect data from participants.

   Data Analysis
Quantitative data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel. Accordingly, the

participant’s responses were analyzed using graphs and tables.

   Data findings and interpretation
The following findings emerged from the results of the present study:

Participant’s perceptions regarding online learning and its usefulness and benefits.

                                                                                                    355
