After a excellent breakfast with the dynamic President Meena Gopalakrishnan and Secretary Akilan we
drove to Kunnathur Village Panchayat where the club has taken up the de-silting and strengthening the
bunds by planting native trees of 3 ponds covering 2.6 acres at a cost of about 3 lakhs which will help
about 3000 people of that area towards irrigation and drinking water. Also planted around 24 saplings
at the completed tank next to the pond. Next visited their adopted school at Gandhimanagar, where
they have painted all the blocks of the school giving it a very fresh look. Again a very innovative method
was used to give some support to the parents by hiring them to paint the school. Tree plantation was
also done there. Had a very interactive Club assembly during which one of their members Rtn.Dinesh
                      J. Mehta donated Rs 50000/= to Jeevan Shanthi Trust, and Rs 15000/= to a hotel staff’s sister who is
                      suffering from a heart ailment.
AG Baskaran and GGR Kumar are doing a great job
