Note that the structures for c through k are identical. The only crucial
difference among them is the meaning of 'yam' depending on the mean-
ing of the direct object nouns.

2. Yam has the meaning of 'drink,' 'eat,' and 'smoke' but the usage is very
much restricted, as shown in (1).

I. Yam can be replaced by sum in the cases of c, d, e, g, h and j of the
chart in Note 1. That is, sum lacks the meanings of 'send,' 'give,'
'learn' and 'eat 1 drink / smoke.' When yaru can be replaced by sum,
the difference between yaru and sum is a matter of style: the former is
more informal and colloquial.
