STRATEGIC PLAN

               The Rules of the Society are the cornerstone for the setting of all strategic direction.
               Every three years, the EC will conduct a Strategy Review to:
                     Understand why AYO exists
                     Identify the goals needing to be achieved to ensure AYO is meeting its purpose.
                   
               Preparing a SWOT analysis can help clarify strategies to support the goals:

               Mission
                 To provide the best possible orchestral training and tuition to young musicians at the pre-professional
                 level and to enrich the cultural life of the community by presenting music at the highest level of
                 artistic achievement.

                 Vision
                       WHAT
                      To have every talented young musician living in the Auckland region know about AYO and, by
                        virtue of its reputation, eager to become a member.
                      To have a reputation amongst music teachers such that they encourage their students to
                        audition.
                        HOW
                      To have volunteers with the time and required skills enthusiastic about being involved in the
                        running of AYO
                      To have supporters, donors, sponsors and funders keen to be associated with AYO and
                        offering regular financial support.

                 Values
                      Highest possible artistic standard of performance and musicianship IS offered by Music
                        Director and IS expected from players
                      The orchestra works and performs as a team
                      EC Planning and operations well organised and supportive
