the country.
ii. The priests and scribes expounded
on the law.
iii. They established schools together
with arts and sciences, professed to
teach the principles of
righteousness.
14. i. These agencies became corrupted.
They brought into their religious
services the heathen ideas and
customs they adopted while in
captivity. Thus, they conformed to
idolatry in many things.
ii. They lost sight of the teachings of
the ritual service ordained by God
and clung to dead forms.
iii. They trusted in the sacrifices and
ordinances instead of the One to
whom they pointed.
