Redeemer’s work, is revealed, before the work
of the trumpeters is described. Instead of
introducing Christ as a sacrifice, bleeding in
the presence of the heavenly beings, He is here
shown as our great High Priest, ministering in
the presence of the Father. John saw Him
standing at the altar, having a golden censer.
In the shadowy service of the earthly
tabernacle, the altar of incense burned
continually before the inner veil. The smoke
ascended before the glory of the shekinah,
which shone above the mercy seat. On the Day
of Atonement, when the high priest entered
into the Most Holy place, he carried with him
a censer filled with precious odors, the
fragrance of which was wafted by the breezes
far beyond the tabernacle court. The priest
